If Counterplay were to honestly adopt a balance rotation that occurred once per expansion, "even if they got it wrong," would that really help reinvigorate the playerbase?

#Swamp entangler Patch#

Honestly every single week a patch comes out with no balance, I'm seeing the same complaints (omg no balance, omg I miss the monthlies). But play it out in Sandbox mode, give it some test runs on ladder and take note of what isn't working (particularly against whom), then build around those weaknesses. So I was just looking at this video (yes I know it's technically unrelated to Duelyst) but couldn't help myself giggle at the thought that if you replaced Hearthstone with Duelyst, and Ben Brode with Joseki you'd get the exact state we're in (including multiple use of that famous F word) These are often immediate threats the opponent has to deal with one way or another. Some of the best Songhai cards (imo) are Gorehorn, Killing Edge and 4 Winds Magi. Mostly everything else in this deck needs to be comboed to be viable and without something like Heaven's Eclipse or just something to heavily stall your opponent (Swamp Entangler won't cut it), you'll likely be sitting with a hand of not interactive cards, or individual cards that won't make enough impact to turn the tide in your favor. you're basically struggling to keep your head above water while the opponent is gaining momentum.įrom my experience, people don't mess around with Heartseekers or ranged units in general - they become a top target priority. Be default they are all very low attack/health and will be targeted with quick removal or dispel, leaving you highly vulnerable. The problem I see is that for this to work, all of these minions need to stay on the board. I've gone through similar takes with Songhai so take this with a grain of salt: but it's one of those decks that looks good on paper, but often fails you with non-impacting cards or the inability to deal with a major threat. Scarlet Viper i find great at generating threat, the opponent has to deal with it or potentially suffer a high amount of damage when it is combined with another Spell.Īny thoughts on the deck as well as constructive criticism or ideas for changes i could make would be greatly appreciated. Fire Spitter does a similar job to Vale Hunter and Heartseeker but is a bit more useful without additional Spells. Saberspine Tiger is there for a surprise attack, usually combined with another spell. Vale Hunter does basically the same as Heartseeker.

Swamp Entangler is there for some cheap Provoke. Kaido Assassin i like slightly less than Chakri Avatar and Heartseeker to open with but i find the Backstab mechanic to be rather useful especially with Mist Dragon Seal. It gives me a cheap-ish minion that is effective and generates some threat. Heartseeker i find useful for applying spells like Deathstrike Seal, Killing Edge or Saberspine Seal. Chakri Avatar i find very handy with the amount of spells in the deck that support lower cost minions. I generally try to open with a Chakri Avatar, Heartseeker or Kaido Assassin.
